Welcome to Reed&Wright,
Where we provide information. Trustworthy, detailed, easy to find.

Sometimes the more important a subject is, the less trustworthy the information about it becomes.

At Reed&Wright we find these subjects, collect the data, and collate it in a form that cancels out as much bias as possible.

Who are the people behind Reed&Wright?

Craig A. Glesner
Researcher, Database Entry, and General Factotum 1999-2001: Craig, now mostly busy on his own site, was for over a year the other on-site guy for R&W, doing everything from tracking down Nicaraguan combat data online to arranging deliveries. While no longer actively involved, he still periodically provides useful advice on any number of topics.

Miss Lasko-Gross
Artist, Writer: The creator of our first foray into comics, Escape From "Special", which has since been expanded into a full graphic novel and published by Fantagraphics. You really should buy a copy.
She is currently working on our upcoming poster, Gotta Fight the Right.

Scott Lewis
Fact Checker, Researcher: Scott took on and completed the evil job of creating an independant clone of our original chronology. In other words, I handed him two milk crates of history texts and asked him to first review the books for viability as sourcematter, then create a whole fresh chronology of US military history to check against our existing one. It took me three years to build the first chrono. It took Scott (in evenings after his day job) about a month.
He has also helped periodically with advice on research sources and techniques.
In the real world, Scott is the Director of Editorial Research at Engineering News Record and has been handling much tougher problems than ours in print publishing and network news for over twenty years.

Janet B. Pascal
Senior Editorial Advisor: Janet has been the reality check of our various projects, reviewing language and policy not only on the poster, database and other products, but on our business plan and other internal documents. In addition, she has an astounding skill for online searching, knowing more reference sites, search techniques, and experts than pikers like William Safire will ever manage.
She is currently an editor at Viking Children's Books, having been in publishing for almost twenty years. Ms. Pascal is also the author of biographies of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Jacob Riis.

Allison Russo
Bookkeeping, Client Relations, Document Management, Logistics: Allison has been key in the other side of Reed&Wright, providing organizational help to academics, seniors, and others who could benefit from our ability to create order out of chaos. Allison's ability to keep her cool in the midst of moves, client breakdowns, and a hundred kinds of delays and changed plans is a large part of how we've been able to take on the range and number of clients that we have.
Her handling of all of our own bookkeeping for the better part of a year got us through some very busy times, while her research of biofuels here and while in Europe created the underpinnings of what is now our largest non-history project.

Sara Stewart
Editor, Researcher, Writer, General Purpose Second Pair of Hands: Working almost entirely from her home in London, Ontario, Sara has been helping with a wide range of editorial side activities for Reed&Wright since 2004. Like Janet, Sara can find more online in an hour than many could find in a month. This has been handy indeed.

Rustin H. Wright
Publisher, Director of Operations, Guy Who Does Everything Else: Yep, that's me. With seventeen years of experience in computers, publishing, and content management, I've been a busy boy.
After some rather extreme work during high school at a lab at NYU Medical Center, I cut my teeth as a techie on an early venture building mobile computers, making a fiber optics bend device for them and getting a patent for it in 1989. Mostly I've been a techie in publishing and advertising since then. Since 1994 I've focused on workflow, technology, and infrastructure issues in large content-creation environments, having consulted for (among others) McGraw-Hill, The New York Times, Avirex, Sports Illustrated, and Time Out New York.
After many years as a consultant and IT troubleshooter, I devoted several years to research and projects for various non-profits, including cofounding a computer center at ABC No Rio, a Lower East Side community center. Periodically, tech work did intrude, including six months as Director of Technology for This Old House Magazine.
Since 2000, my time has been split between research, writing, setting up Reed& Wright, and acting as an advisor on moves, reorganizations, and other procedural issues for seniors, academics, and non-profits.
Occasionally I sleep or watch movies. My personal page is here.

Advisors
And let's not forget to thank Diana Jarvis for legal advice, Dan Benderly for business advice, and Seth Tobacman for the original site illustrations (done very, very well despite weird instructions, late pay, and impossible schedules).
